Forest Gites in sunny Deux-Sevres is the ideal location for a peaceful retreat or family holiday in France. On the border of 79 and 86 the complex is perfectly located for exploring the Charente region, areas of historical interest and tourist attractions. Forest Gites is situated in the village of Chey, quiet and rural but only 8 minutes from the good size market town of Lezay. The market held every Tuesday morning is well worth a visit.
The three gites share a large heated swimming pool which is securely fenced with plenty of room for sun loungers and a gazebo for some shade. Each gite has its own garden area with seating and BBQ, and there is also a shared open fronted barn for guests to socialise. A children’s play area and large grass space for outdoor games is perfect for young families to burn some energy. Our onsite games room provides table tennis, table football, dart board and a pool table. There is a large projector screen with surround sound on which you can view DVDs or even connect your own games console. There are also a selection of games and books to borrow.
Large groups and families can hire the whole complex for an excellent price, please contact us for more details. We can sleep a total of 11 in the 5 bedrooms and up to an extra 4 using the sofa bed available in the two bedroom gites. The covered barn has lighting with a large table and chairs for everyone to eat together.
There are many local attractions in the surrounding area. The historic town of Melle is only 15 minute’s drive away with large supermarkets and the Mines d’Argent des Rois Francs, where a guided tour of the silver mine can be enjoyed. Highly recommended is Valley of the Monkeys (Vallee des Singes), Futuroscope and Lac du Lambon. We have driven through so many beautiful villages just asking to be explored with many walking and cycling opportunities. There are fishing lakes, golf courses and horse riding locally or simply relax around our pool, with plenty of sun loungers available. We are within fair distance of the beautiful La Rochelle, Bordeaux, Cognac and Angouleme for bigger days out.

Family Friendly
We aim to be as family friendly as possible and provide a variety of outdoor games including croquet, badminton and boules, books, DVDs and the games room for entertaining all ages for the days you might not fancy going exploring. The large heated swimming pool is also a favourite and is securely fenced for peace of mind, there are sun loungers by the pool and comfy seating for parents to relax whilst supervising children in the pool. For additional relaxation, there are hammocks under the trees in the shade.
Dog Friendly
La Maison Bleue and La Maison Rouge are happy to accept up to 2 well behaved dogs, they have secure private gardens for them to be free but we ask dogs to be on the lead at all other times for the enjoyment of everyone else staying at Forest Gites. There is no extra charge for dogs but please let us know when booking.

Sustainability Goals
At Forest Gites we like to be as environmentally friendly as possible and this will continue to develop over time. There are compost bins in the gites which we encourage our guests to use and also recycling bins for all glass, plastics, tins and paper. More information about what can be recycled in our area will be detailed in your information pack. We are starting to grow our own fruit, vegetables and herbs, some produce may be available when you visit depending on seasons.
